Scott Stowers

founder and President

Scott Stowers is founder and President of Dedicated Transportation Solutions, Inc. As president, Mr. Stowers focus is the development and execution of short and long term business strategies. He has 28 years of increasingly responsible experience in the transportation and logistics industry. Mr. Stowers experience includes 13 years at Ryder System, in a variety of positions including sales and operations from the Carolinas to Florida. Prior to forming DTS, Mr. Stowers spent 7 years as Vice President for Salem NationaLease headquartered in Winston Salem NC. Mr. Stowers holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Glen Thompson

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Thompson is responsible for all administration and financial aspects of the company. Mr. Thompson also has more than 2 decades experience in accounting and finance. He has held positions in a variety of industries including transportation, employee leasing and banking. Mr. Thompson began his transportation career working with Ryder System in 1984. Prior to joining Dedicated Transportation Solutions, Mr. Thompson served as Senior Vice President for Bank of America located in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC., he is also Certified Public Accountant.

Mike Doherty

Vice President of Sales

Mike Doherty is Vice President of Sales and had over 33 years with Ryder in locations from Miami, FL to Canada. He has experience in analysis and design , as well as sales of Dedicated Contract Carriage in multiple capacities and a diverse range of industries. Mike decided to join DTS in 2009 and has helped grow the Florida market. Mike has a Business management degree from the University of Miami.



Jay Achterhoff is the Vice President of Operations with Dedicated Transportation Solutions. In this role, he has direct responsibilities for all trucking operations, Safety, and Brokerage. Jay has over 37 years of transportation experience ranging from hands on network direction to senior management positions. He has a varied background of knowledge of the transportation industry. Specifically, his experience includes LTL and truckload operations and sales, brokerage operations, Agent business development, 3rd party logistics, and intermodal operations.
During his career, Jay spent 15 years within the Roadway Express Midwest network and 10 years with American Tran-Freight, Inc. in 3rd party logistics, ultimately serving as their Vice President of Business Development. Most recently, his experience has been with Universal Truckload Services, Inc. in business and terminal development with their international intermodal concentration.
Jay is a 1973 graduate of the University of Notre Dame business school with a degree in Marketing. While at Notre Dame, he was a scholar athlete and member of the 1973 National Championship football team.

Larry Thomas

Vice President of Integrated Logistics

Larry’s overall responsibility is building Dedicated Transportation Solutions warehousing capabilities. In his role he will not only assist with the sales and pricing but the overall design operation of the opportunities. Larry is an industry veteran, with more than 35 years of experience in supply chain management. He brings expertise in the areas of operations, leadership, and business development. Mr. Thomas started his career in the finial mile and warehousing area with Burnham delivering high value products. In 1990 he began a 19 year career at DHL-Exel, and was responsible for the design and development of Exel’s Atlanta campus strategy growing the campus in excess of 5,000,000 square feet. Larry has a knowledge of design and operations of all aspects of the supply chain focusing on warehousing.
He is a member of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation Logistics from Auburn University in 1980.
